Local Priorities Violence against women and girls Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On the 5th DECEMBER 2025, Officers from Thames View and Barking Riverside Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted high visibility patrols in a marked police van at night during the hours of 7pm-9pm. We are targeting areas of the ward that are poorly lit and/ or areas brought to our attention by members of the public.

These areas included:

- Dagenham Dock
- Fielders Crescent
- Charlton Crescent Tunnel
- Renwick Road

We are continuing to patrol both wards and welcome any suggestions to areas that you feel are in need of police presence.

 We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years.
